As Bright As Your Faith Tags

Our wonderful Young Women’s President, Shauna, and our fabulous YW Secretary, Ashley, asked me to help them create some gifts for the Laurels in our ward who are graduating from high school.  Shauna and Ashley put together some adorable candy-filled light bulb candy jars from Hobby Lobby and wanted to attach tags with the following quote from Presiden Thomas S. Monson:

Your future is as bright as your faith.

I created some two-by-four-inch tags with the quotation in subway-art style with a bright yellow gradated background. I think they came out great and work perfectly with Shauna and Ashley’s gift. Continue reading “As Bright As Your Faith Tags”

2102 Mutual Theme CD/DVD Folders and Jewel Case Inserts

A wonderful reader of this blog requested something with my 2012 Mutual Theme logo that she  could use with a CD of special music she wanted to give to the Young Women in her Stake.  I made two options for her. Use either one to add a special touch to a music CD for a YW birthday gift, lesson handout or Young Women in Excellence favor.  Or, use them with a YW year-in-review or Girls Camp DVD!

Activity Days: More Mom and Me Printables–Cupcake Wrappers, Treat Toppers and Flags

Here are the latest in my Activity Days: Mom&Me series of printables:  cupcake wrappers, treat-bag toppers and flags!  Use these printables, plus my other Activity Days Mom&Me invitations (photo and candy-bars) and photo frames to give your girls and their mothers a memorable time together at your next activity!  You can find the download links to my files at the end of this article.

Flags:  Make an adorable string of bunting flags using my easy-to-print .pdf file or four high-quality .jpeg files.  My flags fit perfectly on a standard 8.5-by-11-inch piece of paper or cardstock.  Print, cut and assemble!

I put together my string of bunting flags by folding the top 1/2-inch of each flag towards the back, hanging the folded flag on a length of string and then gluing down the flap.  You can also hang individual flags around the room or sew them onto a length of ribbon using a sewing machine and long, straight stitch.

Cupcake Wrappers:  Use my cupcake wrappers to dress-up cupcakes for a fun and delicious Mom&Me activity treat!

Or, have your girls make and decorate cupcakes to serve to their mothers at your Mom&Me.  Print, cut and wrap my wrappers around frosted, decorated cupcakes.  Then, secure the wrappers in back with tape or glue.

Treat Bag Toppers:  Finally, today I have some adorable Activity Days: Mom&Me treat bag toppers for you!

Designed to fit sandwich or snack-sized zip-top bags, these five-by-seven-inch (2.5-by-seven-inches when folded) treat bag toppers will help you create a playful favor for your next mother-daughter activity.  The front features my Activity Days: Mom&Me logo, the words Sweet Treats and the quote Together is a wonderful place to be!

On the back, I’ve included the Primary Theme as well as a Mom and Me barcode!  Simply print, cut, fold and secure these treat toppers with staples or double-sided tape to your own treat bags.

I hope these Activity Days printables help make your next Mom and Me get-together perfect–and EASY!  I have a few more printables coming in this series, so be sure to follow this blog or like Hang a Ribbon on the Moon on Facebook so you don’t miss a download or post.

2012 Personal Progress Calendar: Blank Goal Pages

You can find the 2016 Personal Progress Calendar here.

One wonderful reader of this blog asked for a way to customize the monthly goal pages in my 2012 Personal Progress Calendar project. In case you missed the post, here is a picture of the finished project:

It is six-by-six-inches in size and features  monthly calendar pages, monthly goal pages, a planning for 2012 page, a favorite scripture page and two year in review pages.  It can stand on a dresser or hang in a locker or on a wall. You could even print out each page to give to your girls each month.  You can find out how to put the calendar together by reading the instructions in the download at the end of this post.

In order to make this calendar more customizable, here’s what I came up with for you:

  • A customizable, interactive .pdf file featuring fields you can fill in with your own monthly value, scripture, quote and Personal Progress goal on the monthly goal pages!
  • Blank monthly goal page files in .jpeg format for editing in your own word-processing or graphic-editing software (Word, Photoshop, etc.).

I’ve included everything you need in one big zip file for you to download! Remember, you will need to unzip the download before you can use it.  Also, to use the .pdf files, you will need Adobe Reader, which is free from Adobe. com and already installed on most computers.

In the zip you will find:

  • An interactive .pdf of the 2012 Personal Progress Calendar with project instructions and blank fields for you to fill in (NOTE:  The pages to print are after the project instructions.)
  • A .pdf with instructions for filling out the interactive file
  • The original 2012 Personal Progress Calendar .pdf file with project instructions and pages to print
  • A folder with blank monthly goal pages and plans for 2012/year in review 2012 pages in .jpeg format
  • A folder with monthly calendar pages in .jpeg format
  • A folder with monthly goal pages and plans for 2012/year in review 2012 pages with my suggested values, scriptures, quotes and Personal Progress goals

***IMPORTANT NOTE:  You CAN NOT save your information in the interactive .pdf file.  Because if this, I suggest you fill in a month at a time and then print out that month.  You can always copy your print out to make multiple copies.

This project was so fun for our girls to put together a few weeks ago.  They had a great time cutting out their pages and assembling the calendars while socializing together.  I hope your Young Women enjoy it as much as they did!

Arise and Shine Forth: 2012 Mutual Theme Young Men’s Candy Bar Wrapper Printable

One of my fabulous Facebook followers requested an Arise and Shine Forth 2012 Mutual Theme candy bar wrapper suitable for the Young Men in her ward.  I loved this idea and have created another printable 1.55-ounce Hershey’s Bar wrapper for you.

It features a whole new 2012 Mutual Theme logo with a retro design feel and more masculine colors than my 2012 Mutual Theme wrapper for Young Women.  I’ve added some Young Men’s program touches to the back of the wrapper including the full 2012 Mutual Theme scripture, an ingredients list with scriptures from the Duty to God book and a “Nutrition Facts” box full of Duty to God references.

Designed to fit a Hershey’s 1.55-ounce candy bar and other similar-sized bars, this eye-catching wrapper will help motivate and reward the Young Men in your ward or stake.

Use this candy bar wrapper in conjunction with my YW candy-bar wrapper for Standards Nights, Mutual-theme firesides, combined YW/YM Mutual activities or Youth Conferences.  Or, give them to the Young Men in your ward for birthday gifts, Priesthood lessons and YM Mutual activity nights.  One of these candy bars would make a great prize for a scripture chase or other contest!

In my download, I’ve included two files.  The first is a .pdf of the candy-bar wrapper.  The second file is a high-quality 300-dpi .jpeg which is ready to print or edit in your software.  When you print out these wrappers, make sure you use the highest-quality setting on your printer for best results.

Activity Days: Mom & Me Printable Invitations (1.55-ounce Candy Bar Wrapper)

When I was an Activity Days leader, some of the most successful activities we had were “Mom & Me” activities.  Sometimes we did them in conjunction with a Recognition Activity, but we also did them as stand-alone activities. Have you considered having one of these for your Activity Days girls?  Why not!  And to get you started, I thought I’d share a cute printable I’ve designed to be used as an invitation to an Activity Days Mom & Me activity.

As you can see, it involves one of my favorite snacks, chocolate!  It’s a candy-bar wrapper invitation!

Designed to fit the standard 1.55-ounce Hershey’s chocolate bar (and other similar-sized candy bars), my wrapper features “You’re invitied!” on the front and space to add your details on the back as well as an “ingredients” list with the Primary theme and a “Nutrition Facts” box changed to an “Activity Days Facts” box with all kinds of references to the Faith in God for Girls program and its requirements.  Here’s a closer look:

I’ve included two versions of the candy bar wrapper in my download:

  • a high-quality .jpeg file, ready to edit in your favorite software and print (or print out first and then add handwritten details yourself)
  • an interactive .pdf file, with text fields where you can add your information once you’ve opened the file in Adobe Reader.  You cannot save the text you add, but using an interactive .pdf  is a quick and easy way to add your individual details to the wrapper.  Adobe Reader can be found here for free and most people already have it installed on their computers.

Over the next while, I will have more Activity Days Mom&Me printables including posters, cupcake wrappers and a photo frame and more plus a few ideas on Mom & Me activities you might consider doing for your next Activity Days event.  Don’t worry, I also have some Young Women’s printables coming as well.  Don’t miss a post by following to this blog or liking Hang a Ribbon on the Moon on Facebook.  I love my followers!

Chandelier Invites: Blank and with 2012 Mutual Theme–All in Four Colors

I received a comment from Heather asking if I could do my New Beginnings Invite in Portuguese or create one without the logo in English so she could do her invites in own in her language.  I was thrilled to do the invite in Portuguese for Heather AND to offer you some variations on the original.

I’ve redesigned my invites with additional backgrounds to the original blue:  pink, green and yellow, which compliment my 2012 Mutual Theme calendars.  Plus, I’ve provided you with a download of my invite in all four colors without the 2012 theme–they are totally without text! Now, you can use these invitations for a whole lot of other occasions:  Young Women in Excellence, Activity Days, Relief Society activities, wedding showers, birthday parties–any occasion you want to create a four-by-six-inch photo-print invite!

Here’s how to customize my blank invitations:

  1. Open the .jpeg file in photo-editing software (Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, Gimp, etc.)
  2. Add your text.  Note:  If you want to put something on the black area of the invite, be sure you change your text color to white.
  3. Save your file as a high-quality .jpeg file.
  4. Upload your file to your favorite online photo processor.  I prefer Costco.com or Shutterfly.com.  If you use Costco, DO NOT use their quick uploader.  Go with the high-resolution upload, which will take longer, for best printing results.
  5. Order your invitations as four-by-six-inch photo prints.  (So inexpensive!)

You will love the quality of a photo-print invitation and your guests will be impressed, too!

Remember, all of my downloads are for non-commerical personal or Church use, only!

Happy Birthday! Arise and Shine Forth Birthday Cards

To help the Young Women in our ward celebrate their birthdays this year, we’re giving them a handmade bracelet designed to fit with the Arise and Shine Forth Mutual theme. Each bracelet will be presented to the girls in a small gift bag with a custom-designed birthday card slipped inside.  Our YW president asked me to make the cards using my 2012 Mutual theme logos and I thought I would share them with you.

The cards measure 3 3/4-by-2 1/2-inches when folded and have the chandelier logo on the front and the full 2012 Mutual theme scripture on the back.  My .pdf file lets you print four cards per page.

You can add your own greeting or message on the inside of the cards after you print and cut them out, OR, you can print one of two messages I’ve included in the .pdf inside.

If you choose to use one of my greetings, you will need to print on the back of your printed sheet of cards.

Here’s how:

  1. Print out the page of the .pdf with the outsides of the cards on it (page 2). (Make sure you ONLY print page 2.  Click on the printer icon in the Adobe Acrobat toolbar.  Check the circle next to pages and enter the number 2 in the box under print range in the print dialog pop-up.)
  2. Re-insert the printed pages back into your printer, making sure that the blank side will be printed on.  (You may need to do a few test prints to figure out how to put the paper back in so that the inside messages are printed in the right places on the right side of the paper.  I always do this using the lowest-quality setting so that I don’t waste ink.)
  3. Once you’ve re-inserted the pages, print the page of the .pdf with your chosen message. (Page 3 has the “Keep on Shining!” message; Page 4 has the “We love you!” message.) Click on the printer icon in the Adobe Acrobat toolbar. Check the circle next to pages and enter the page number you want to print in the box under print range in the print dialog pop-up.
  4. Cut and fold the cards.

What are you giving your Young Women this year for their birthdays?  We all need ideas, so please leave a comment and/or link!
