Be Anxiously Engaged: Pollinate the World with the Pure Love of Christ [Handout and Poster]

One of my favorite talks from the October 2012 General Conference was “Be Anxiously Engaged” by Elder M. Russell Ballard. His talk about honeybees and doing good for others was wonderful! This week in our Beehive class, we reviewed this talk and discussed Elder Ballard’s important doctrine: even small, daily acts of kindness and service matter. Elder Ballard suggests that we pray each morning for opportunities to be of service and to remind my girls to follow this counsel, I made a little handout for them to keep in their rooms. It is visual reminder to them that no matter how small their contribution may seem, the good they do makes a difference–just as a single honeybee’s lifetime’s work of 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey matters to the whole hive.

Young Women in Excellence: Whooo Is Ready to Stand for Truth and Righteousness?

We’re gearing up for our ward’s Young Women in Excellence and I thought I’d share with you what we’re doing and some coordinating printables I’ve created. Our theme this year is “Whooo is ready to stand for truth and righteousness?” and we’re using owls to tie it all together.  Our fabulous YW President, Shauna, got the idea from a friend and we’re giving it our own spin. This idea and my printables are easily adaptable to New Beginnings, Girls Camp and other Young Women activities as well as for Activity Days recognition events. 2013 Mutual Theme Chalkboard Posters in Six Sizes

As promised, I’ve got posters for you! I used my 2013 Mutual Theme logos to create a chalkboard-style poster in 18×24, 16×20 and 11×14-inch sizes for you to use for youth conferences, New Beginnings, Young Women in Excellence, firesides and to hang in your classrooms. 2013 Mutual Theme Logos: Stand Ye in Holy Places

I’m so excited to present to you my 2013 Mutual Theme logos!

When I read this year’s theme, I wanted to create something graphic with references to the temple. Taking inspiration from all the chalkboard art I’ve seen popping up everywhere, I designed my logos with bold lines and interesting fonts. Use these logos for mutual newsletters, t-shirts, posters, invitations, flyers, handouts and more–anything requiring a logo! Continue reading “2013 Mutual Theme Logos: Stand Ye in Holy Places”

2013 Mutual Theme 8×10-inch Posters: Stand Ye in Holy Places

The day I read the announcement of the 2013 Mutual Theme, I was excited to get designing! And although I am not ready to reveal my 2013 logos, I did whip together some 8×10-inch posters for you. Inspired by the Keep Calm and Carry On posters from World War II England, my Stand Ye in Holy Places posters in bright red, blue and yellow work perfectly for binder covers, handouts, visual aids and more. Arise and Shine Forth 16×20-inch Posters: Blank and in YW Value Colors

Another wonderful reader asked if I could make her some 16-by-20-inch posters in the YW Value colors.  She is going to add her own text to them and use them throughout the year.  What a great idea!  I want to share these posters with you, too!  I’ve created eight high-quality 16-by-20-inch posters in each of the following colors:  gray (Faith), blue (Divine Nature), red (Individual Worth), green (Knowledge), orange (Choice and Accountability), yellow (Good Works), purple (Integrity) and gold (Virtue).  Each poster has the chandelier and black bottom border as well as a unique damask background.  Besides using these for YW Personal Progress/Values, they would be perfect for creating large posters for adding Girls Camp photos, featuring your YW Recognition Award-earning girls for Young Women in Excellence, making signs for women’s conference workshops or announcing Relief Society activities and other Church-related events.  Use them for birthday parties, bridal showers or baby showers, too!

To customize these posters, you will need a photo-editing program like Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro or Gimp or other similar software.  Simply open the .jpeg file you want to use and add text, photos and graphics as you desire.  Be sure to save your changes as a high-quality .jpeg file for best printing results.  I love uploading my 16-by-20-inch posters to Costco.com for printing! Be sure to use their high-resolution upload option, not their fast upload.

Because of the large file size of each posters, I’ve zipped them into two separate downloads.

To get the full eight-poster set, you will need to download BOTH files.

Also, these are huge files and they may take some time to download, depending on your internet connection speed.

Arise and Shine Forth Posters: Pink, Green and Yellow

My next download for you is another reader request.  She asked for the posters to be done with the pink, green and yellow backgrounds that I used for the calendars so she can put them on eight-by-ten-inch canvases as gifts for her girls.  What a great idea!  Not only did I redo the eight-by-ten-inch posters with the new backgrounds, I also did the 8-by-10.5-inch, 11-by-17-inch and 16-by-20-inch posters, too!  In each download, you’ll get high-quality .jpegs of the 8-by-10, 8-by-10.5, 11-by-17 and 16-by-20 -inch files as well as a .pdf of the 8-by-10.5-inch file which is perfect for binder covers!

**NOTE:  Even though the previews don’t mention the .pdf file, it IS included in the download.

Remember, all my files are for non-commercial, personal or Church use only.

Don’t share my files. I’d love to have more visitors to my blog, so PLEASE direct your friends here to download their own.  Thanks!

Arise and Shine Forth: Posters

I want to express my thanks to Melanie at Sugardoodle.net for posting my 2012 Arise and Shine Forth word art and welcome all of you who found my blog from there as well as all of you who found me through Facebook.  Thanks for showing such kind interest in my work!

Here is the next in my series of Arise and Shine Forth designs:  Posters.  I’ve created them in four sizes:

8-by-10 inches:  For printing as binder cover sheets or to put in an 8-by-10-inch frame.

8-by-10.5 inches:  Also for binder covers and for printing on home printers, but not uploading as a photo.

11-by-17 inches:  Large enough for a table display.

16-by-20 inches:  The perfect size for putting on a floor easel.

They are all saved as high-quality .jpeg files and  ready-to-print.  Upload the 8-by-10, 11-by-17 and 16-by-20-inch posters to Costco.com or another photo processor for inexpensive yet professional-looking posters.  When uploading to Costco, make sure you don’t use their fast upload option–you will have a really poor-quality result–go with the full-resolution option instead.  You’ll love the quality of a photo print.  I do!

If you like these posters, but want them in a different color, I’ve also got them in pink, green and yellow–check out this post to download them.

I have also saved the 8-by-10.5-inch poster as a .pdf file–perfect for printing on your home computer.  For best results, I always recommend using photo paper and your printer’s highest-quality setting when printing at home.

You can download the original blue poster files here.

You will need to unzip them before you can use them.

As always, please don’t share these files with your friends.

Send them to this blog to download their own.

These designs are for non-commercial, personal or Church only.

Thanks again for all of your kind support!  Enjoy!

P.S.  More great designs are coming!
