Many readers have requested that I update my 2013 YW Newsletter Template for the ucpoming year–and here it is!

With this 2014 YW Newsletter Template PDF, you can build a newsletter or announcement sheet for your girls in just minutes. I’ve done all the designing, all you need to do is enter your ward/stake name and fill in the text titles and text.
My newsletter template features a fun retro feel and the 2014 Mutual Theme. Plus, it provides you with a place to enter your ward/stake name and four areas to customize, each one with a title space and area for entering your own text. And, because it is saveable, you can easily make changes and updates as needed.
Here are some ideas for each of the four sections: announcements, birthdays, Personal Progress, congratulations, welcome, calendar, Sunday lesson topics, reminders, spotlights and activites. Here is a sample newsletter to give you an idea of what it will look like:
In the download (link at the end of this post), I’ve included an editable, saveable PDF file of the the template–simply add your info in Adobe Reader–PLUS a high-quality JPEG file, which you can customize in Word, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or other software. You can download Adobe Reader for free here. NOTE: I highly recommend you UNCHECK the “Yes, Install McAfee Security Scan Plus” box before downl0ading.
Here’s how to use the editable, saveable PDF newsletter template:
- Download my template file (link at the end of this post).
- Unzip the downloaded file.
- Open Adobe Reader. If you don’t have this program, download it here and install it.
- Select File>Open.
- Navigate to the unzipped newsletter file on your computer. Click Open.
- The newsletter template is on page 2 of the file. Page down and fill in the text boxes provided. There is a text box at the top for your ward/stake name. In addition, there are four areas for titles and text. Fonts are preselected for you and will size automatically.
- Enter your text. NOTE: If you want to indent something in the text, DO NOT use the TAB key. Instead, use the SPACE BAR.
- Save and print page 2 of the file.

Hi Natalie! I’m sorry, in Adobe Reader you can not change the fonts. However, if you want to use your own font(s), just use the JPEG calendar files. Open the month you want to use in your word processing/photo editing software and then put text boxes where you want to put information. You can set the font(s) for your own text boxes there. 🙂

Im not computer savvy but I cant get your 2014 newsletter template… It will only download 2013 newletter… Thank you for all your work you do!
A few questions: Are you clicking on the “here” link at the bottom of the post? Have you opened the pdf? This 2014 newsletter template looks just like the 2013 one except that the scripture under the heading is changed to this year’s theme. Let me know if you’re still having problems 🙂

Is there any way you can save the 2014 template for the newsletter in docx? That way we could change around things easier and I am so not familiar with adobe? Also, I can only download the 2013 template too. Any thoughts for the computer impaired?
Hi Betsy! Which download link are you clicking? (Don’t forget that the 2014 template looks a lot like the 2013 template :)–the only difference is the mutual theme.) Make sure you are clicking the link at the END of the post where it says “here.” Also, Adobe Reader is a very, very easy program to use (even for the technologically challenged 🙂 )–pretty much click and type. You most likely already have it on your computer and have used it to view PDF files. Give it a try 🙂 Which program will you be using the docx in? If you want to use the template in Word or a similar program, simply open up the JPEG of the 2014 newsletter template (included in the download) and import it into a Word document as an image. Then, use text boxes to put your information where you want it. I’m sorry I can’t save it as a docx (I designed the template in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign). Hope this helps a little 🙂
Hi! I love this layout of the newsletter. I am in the Relief Society Presidency in my ward and was wondering if there was anyway I could change the young women to say Relief Society and possible change the scripture below it. That would be so great!
I love that idea! I will change the file so it says Relief Society and has a space for a scripture/theme as well as the other spaces. Watch for it to be posted Saturday 🙂

Thanks for doing this it has been so helpful. I have had some trouble with getting words to show up on the arrow and the titles not being center when I print it. any suggestions?
Hi Chelsey! The problems you’re having might be due to limitations to editable PDF files. The words might not be showing up on the arrow because your title is too long. I am not sure why the titles aren’t centered. Are you using the latest version of Adobe Reader? If you want, you can open up the jpeg file in Word or another similar program and then add text boxes for the titles, etc. to avoid issues with the PDF.
I am trying to use this newsletter template, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to just save page 2. Any hints?
Hi Carrie! As far as I know, there is no way to do this. I will send you a pdf with just the second page, if you like, and then you can save it that way.
